Job Overview
-

The Production Lead is responsible for overall management of the production team. Oversees the execution of corporate events, communication elements; and is accountable for the overall financial management and resourcing of programs.

This position maintains and oversees existing client relationships and contributes to the development and growth of new business.

Responsibilities
-

Client Management:
  • Serves as lead of Production department by managing and overseeing production of key accounts. Steps into C-suite conversations when necessary to show leadership for production related matters
  • Supports account and relationship management for existing clients
  • Attends key client meetings as requested
  • From time to time will be expected to act in a Producer capacity on select programs and projects
  • Contributes to business development by growing existing business and attracting and cultivating new business. Participates in overall strategy around new business and existing business

Team Management and Leadership:
  • Assigns internal or freelance production teams to project
  • Responsible for growing resource pool, vetting and hiring (securing for job/negotiating rates/agreeing on budgeted hours) of freelance staff for production teams. Manages team once in place
  • Supporting Director of Finance and GM with paperwork related to freelance hires
  • Establishes and assigns production work
  • Guides and supports staff in their daily activities
  • Providing guidance with respect to production training and career development for internal staff
  • Creates a positive working environment that has open communication, trust, and respect

Production:
  • Ensures Debut’s creative and production standards are maintained across all programs and throughout each project cycle along with key creative team
  • Works collaboratively with assigned team, weighs into various production elements, including but not limited to, video and digital media (technical and stage design experience is an asset)
  • Create and oversees critical paths and ensures schedules are adhered to and deliverables are managed within timelines. Proactively communicate with Associate Producer & Account lead where applicable.
  • Provides onsite live production support and onsite management as required in an oversight role.
  • Responsible for onboarding new production or freelance staff in partnership with Director of Finance and GM
  • Lead and initiate best practices for versioning control, naming convention, organizing, and archiving production files

Projects Budgets Management:
  • Responsible for overall financial health of events, conferences and communication programs including creation, review, and oversight of all production budgets to ensure Debut’s margins are maintained
  • Deliver programs on budget along with assigned team
  • Work with Accounting to ensure programs are invoiced on a timely basis
  • Conducts review of financial reconciliation for each program on a weekly basis
  • Responsible for ensuring that final project reconciliations are finalized within 45 days of program completion
  • Ensure team completes timesheets on a weekly basis
  • Identify and implement efficiencies related to production process

Strategic Planning:
  • Actively contributes to Debut’s strategic planning activities

Qualifications
-

  • 5+ years of agency experience in a similar role in corporate events industry
  • Content/video production experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills demonstrated through the effective collaboration and management of internal and external staff
  • Understanding of onsite and virtual event and video execution standards and how specific production deliverables feed into the broader context
  • Proactive in soliciting and incorporating direction and feedback into projects
